From Destructoid:

Gearbox has announced its third piece of DLC for Borderlands today, "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx," slated to hit the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this year.

The DLC will bring a "huge new environment" featuring new enemies and new weapons. Gearbox is saying the experience is designed "for growth for characters from around level 34 to level 50." Yes, apparently Gearbox will be raising the level cap for this upcoming DLC, although they haven't confirmed by how much.

I lost interest in the Mad Moxxi content quite fast. Hopefully round 3 re-ignites my B-lands love.

From Kotaku: General Knoxx

Gearbox and 2K promise "brutal, never-before-seen enemies in a huge new environment complete with tons of brand new missions" as well as "entirely new weapons and items"

I'm happy to hear about new missions and weapons & items. Also interested in the new vechicle they show in the 2nd picture. I'm sure it drives and behaves like the only one in borderlands- but heck- even a new skin is kinda cool.

New missions, weapons and level cap sounds like a decent add on to me! Just disappointed they didn't announce a release date.

Okay, I may have to buy Borderlands again just to play this download. I've already regretted trading it away when I picked up Dragon Age for the wife, but new stuff and missions means I need to hunt down a used copy.

I need to get online with you guys. Played off line for a bit and it got pretty difficult for me. Once I finish Darksiders (at the last boss) and Mass Effect 2, I need to return to the Borderlands.

We'll I had asked a week or two ago if anyone wanted to play online and this is the response I got:

Now you come crawling looking for help. Well well well. In all seriousness though, I was playing Moxxi with some friends the other night and we got to the 23 wave (Round 5 wave 3) and Live went wonky and we all kept getting booted then we all got booted at once.

you do realize the bigger challenges are just for bragging rights yes? To get the 2 addl skill points- play the 1st 3 events in both Walkthrough 1 and then Walkthrough 2. If you work as a team and have good weapons, there's no reason 2 people can't make it... but 4 total makes it a lot easier. Hit up any of us if you see us online and we'll pop in Borderlands and give a hand...till Gen Knox comes out anyway :noproblem:

WOW is this HARD! I hosted the game- my lvl 50 lillith is only on playthrough 2 not 2.5 specifically so the game isn't TOO hard- and yet- Gen. Knoxx w/ 2 other players was quite the challenge. Reminded me a LOT of when we took our supposed buff PSO players on PSO Ultimate- and got spanked. The weapons in vending machines and found in drops may say lvl 55- but their stats can often be WORSE than our lvl 45+ gear! There's also a patch that removes any hacked weapons from your inventory (and yes we know some of you had hacked weapons that people gave you...)

PEarl weapons are also knocked down to orange. There are "leaders" of mobs that take MINUTES to kill w/ good weapons and modifiers. Oh- and the "Monster" vehicle's gun sucks- stick to the Racer.

This is a welcome challenge- love the new enemy types and the new scenery and quests- but I wonder how the difficulty scales on this DLC- as this is the biggest challenge yet!

Finally got around to downloading the General Knoxx update over the weekend. So far, so good. Definitely challenging. I died at least four times during the first mission outside T-bone Junction. Them Crimson Lance a-hole don't mess around!

I love that Scooter plays a big part in this storyline. Easily one of my favorite characters in the game. His unending dedication to 'get me rollin' is very much appreciated.

Gearbox has gone on record to say they will CONTINUE to support this title with ADDITIONAL DLC. Over 3million copies (retail game sales) of satisfied customers can't be wrong!

I really like this DLC - it's clear they listen to the fans addressing things like higher difficulty, more weapon variations, being able to level your character further. I'm hoping the fact they limited you to gaining only 11 levels means additional DLC will allow MORE level progression. Still would like to see the active quest glitch corrected, and would love for them to allow multiple playthroughs beyond Playthrough 2- consistently leveling enemies even beyond your level. So what if I can only get to lvl 61 with my character- if I have the means to beat up to playthrough 5 and face lvl 71 enemies due to crazy skills and weapons- so be it. Come on Gearbox- BRING IT!

I'd also like to point out- I've NEVER seen in another game the magnitude of changes a game has undergone due to DLC. Additional storage, addl' exp and character leveling, changed weapon attributes- patches that change existing things in the game (such as the red chests in New Haven). We've been brought up thinking DLC is the same game w/ a reskin, or new levels new characters/vechicles- but the magnitude of this DLC and patches released alters the ENTIRE game in many ways making this more of the PC styled expansions/upgrades of old. While some may argue this DLC is too costly- the HOURS of fun added outweighs the expense IMHO- and also keep up on Amazon or elsewhere to score ponts cards for as much as $10 or more $$ off MSRP making these expansions even cheaper. On average every $10 of DLC I buy usually costs me $7.50.

This DLC solidifies my opinion: BEST game I've played all generation.

General Knoxx is great. Somethings I notice.

the armory will seem a world of wonders when you first get there. i did the trick to raid the armory as much as you want (i did it about 12 times). Good trick...for a while. If you don't have weapons of MASS DESTRUCTION? This will give you the chance to get them.

But, the cream of the crop is the boss Crawmerax. He drops really GOOOOOOD GEAR.

Well, you have to get to that point in the game and you have to own the expansion. New Haven was a great place to farm, now it is just a disappointment.
