Mostly I miss games with brilliant colors. Its like Dreamcast games had a certain look to them all, from Hydro Thunder to Shenmue. Looking back, its weird that even the 3rd party games had the DC look. I guess it was just a product of its time. Whats more of a shame, since SEGA has become a software-only company, they have never managed to recreate a consistant "SEGA-look". They are now nothing but a name. (waits for TA to come in and ask me how I can complain when VF5 isn't on my Gamer Card)

Allow me to disagree on a few issues
1st off , The DC while it looks stunning , its no Multi Mega or WonderMega (the 2 best looking consoles ever made imo) I while i love my DC , I can't help but feel its overrated , its not even in the same league as the Saturn imo . Not just the best SEGA console , but hands down the best console ever made full stop

And I'm not sure if you must have read my spot on another board , because the SEGA look is sadly lacking as is the SEGA games . I'll just say that if you want that SEGA look and style onthe 360 . Get VF 5, OutRun Arcade, Virtual Tennis III , and Sonic Unleashed, and if you have a PS3 VAL .

Not a big fan of the looks of your WonderMega. Looks like something out of Clockwork Orange that you might stick a microcassette into.
Multi Mega = CDX? The CDX looks very nice. I just got cheap by that time and never snagged one.
The new buttons for the PS3 Slim look ridiculous. One of the cool things about the PS3 is it's alien knowledge that a finger is touching it rather than a cloth. Skimping on that and replacing it with two coat buttons makes the new console look absurd.
All that out of the way, the Dreamcast rocks. I still have piles of games I refuse to put into storage because they look so damned good on even the latest lcd/plasma screens. Both Sonics play far better than any new Sonics. Rayman 2 looks phenomenal. There's not been any good substitute for Crazy Taxi on the current gen. Talk about a game that demands XBLA/PSN play, but Sega treats its legacy so well.
I'd like to see a Dreamcast Legacy series on XBLA/PSN. The games can't be THAT big as I'm sure they put some filler on the discs as well.

I love the Dreamcast, and feel that it has a long list of significant achievements. First console to match the best arcade visuals of its time, last console to beat the best PC/home computer visuals of its time (at the Japan launch date anyway), and arguably the only one (the 3DO may be another, but it came in at a high price). First console to consistently push beyond the usual low-res graphics of its predecessors, and then go a step further by offering progressive scan or anti-flicker anti-aliasing for almost every game. First to get online gaming and browsing working without requiring an expensive peripheral to be purchased. First to offer a DLC and Virtual Console-like service (PC Engine and Megadrive games could be downloaded and played in Japan, for something like 300yen each). And with the GD-ROM format and 4 controller ports, there were no real steps backward compared to what came before it.
There's more, especially if you count software and controller innovations and ambition, but the credit for these would also go to the manufacturers and developers, rather than just the machine that enabled them.
I can see, and almost agree about the Saturn being better though

Happy Dreamcast Day, everybody!!!
Took the day off work to sit around and play DC all day. Thought I'd pop in for the day, and celebrate this festive event (belated funeral, your choice) with ma peeps.
BTW. This year, SEGA is bringing the presents.
