No, they expect you to pay $150, as that is the price. (and this was published today?) Amazon has it for under $140.
I'm not trying to say not to do the hack, but at least be real about it.

I'll let one of you guinea pigs go first and tell me how it went.

If Lik-Sang were still around, I could seriously see them selling kits that included the 120GB Western Digital Scorpio drive, a replica 360 HDD case, and a cheap USB flash drive, with requisite files (minus the hddss.bin file of course (the file being private owned IP of Microsoft), which you'll have to acquire via other means. They could sell the whole kit for $50 to $75, and make a killing. Of course thanks to Sony, Lik-Sang is no longer among the living. And unfortunately, Play-Asia is a very, very poor substitute.
However, what the after market really needs instead of going that route, is to make a 360 memorycard adapter for SDHC cards. With SDHC cards going for as low as 16GB for $30, and the Xbox 360 having two memory card slots, it's not a bad deal . . . not to mention a lot easier than having the average Joe trying to figure out how to pull off the HDD mod.

They call out the drive to be used as WDGWD1200BEVS. I couldn't find that at either mWave or NewEgg... But mWave has the WD1200BEVS for $46.90 and NewEgg has it for $59.99 instead. A user comment at NewEgg reads:
And its less then Half the price of the "official" 120gb Hard Drive.
Cons: Not as easy to install on the 360 as it was on the PS3. It requires some firmware modding to get working on the 360.
Other Thoughts: DO NOT GET THIS FOR 360 UNLESS YOU HAVE A HIGH TECHNICAL UNDERSTANDING. It's not an easy mod and you might waste your money if you don't know what your doing.

I am having kind of the same issue, George. Still, I am seeing $200 BR stand-alone players out there, and hear rumors about a $150 model due by christmas. I just need to wait a bit longer and see whats up. I mean, I'd be more tempted by PS3 if Sony had more games I want, but there is only a few for me.
